My Workout from TrainingPeaks or Final Surge looks different in Powercenter and the Stryd Workout App

Not all details of workouts created by Final Surge and TrainingPeaks will transfer into the Stryd ecosystem through the workout sync. This is a brief discussion of what to expect and how to make sure your workouts transfers the way you want them to.

The two pieces of data to consider in the workout are the goal power for each workout block. This data is shown in Powercenter as % CP and as the watt value or range that percentage translates to. See highlighted area below:

TrainingPeaks

Power-based workouts in TrainingPeaks are typically structured by %FTP ,and TrainingPeaks will calculate the watt ranges equivalent to the %FTP shown.

Workouts from TrainingPeaks only sync by %FTP, and the watt ranges are calculated by taking that same percentage of your Critical Power. Note below that the percentages for each block are equal across platforms, but the watt ranges are not.

"How do I make them the same?" Manually adjust your Critical Power in Stryd Powercenter, or adjust your FTP in TrainingPeaks to match your Stryd Critical Power.

Final Surge

Power-based workouts from Final Surge import to Powercenter using the watt values, not the percentage ranges. This means the watt ranges of a workout in Final Surge will look the same in Powercenter, but the % CP will be different than the % FTP, if FTP and CP are different numbers.

"How do I make them the same?" It is less important if the percentages align in Powercenter and Final Surge, because it will not impact your real-time power targets during workout execution with Stryd Workout App or Apple Watch. If you want all the values to match exactly, manually adjust your Critical Power in Stryd Powercenter, or adjust your FTP in Final Surge to match your Stryd Critical Power.
