This type of chip can happen if the pod was pulled directly up from the clip without reducing the tension of the clip by pushing forward/down on the forward tab until the pod was released. We have seen this happen a few times. It most commonly happens when used with thick elastic laces, as it is more difficult to bend the clip to reduce the tension on the pod.
