A soft/hard reset is not known to resolve any known issues on the Stryd pod right now. If you are experiencing an unexplainable issue or odd behavior on your pod, it is worth it to try the soft/hard reset process.
However, you should not expect that a reset will surely resolve the issues you are seeing. This option is primarily available as a "last step" trouble shooting step to resolve an unknown or infrequent issue.
We recommend to attempt a soft/hard reset if you are asked to by the Stryd Support team or if you are determined to troubleshoot or fix an issue on your own.
If you have a Stryd model 3 or newer, you can use the Stryd app on the phone to do a hard reset. After you selected hard reset, you will need to place your Stryd on the charger to reactivate your device.
If you have a model 2 Stryd, you cannot perform a hard reset with the Stryd app. However, there is a way to do a hard reset of a model 2 Stryd. If the battery is completely drained, Stryd will completely switch off and do a full restart. You can let the battery drain by itself, or you can expedite this process by simulating a run with your phone if it can still connect (connect your phone to your charger, start recording a run and wait). The battery of Stryd can last up to 20 hours. The LED will start blinking when the battery is low. You need to wait until the blinking of the LED stops, indicating there is no charge left. After the LED stops blinking, put Stryd back on the charger. It will restart and do a full reset.
