You only need to use the Stryd Zones data field or the Stryd Workout app to get power data from Stryd on your watch. No connections in the Sensor & Accessory menu are necessary for this (in that case, your watch will use GPS for pace and distance).
If you would like to get pace and/or distance from Stryd, you should connect Stryd as an ANT+ foot pod and configure this connection so that the watch will use Stryd instead of GPS for pace and distance (note that all Garmin watches support ANT+)
Here is the connection you should see in the Sensor & Accessory menu if you want pace and distance from Stryd (the watch must be configured to use Stryd instead of GPS):
FP- XXXX (where XXXX is the ANT+ ID)
For detailed instructions on how to configure your Garmin, please refer to our Garmin setup instructions.
Optional configuration:
If your Garmin watch supports Bluetooth sensor pairings, you can additionally pair Stryd as a Bluetooth sensor and then disable this pairing. The advantage of doing this is that the watch will not ask you to pair in the future, which can lead to incorrect configuration of the watch. We do not suggest PWR pairings to Stryd as it can cause distance errors.
- FP - STRYD: Pair but disable. You should pair and disable so you are not prompted in the future to make the connection.
- PWR - STRYD: Pair but disable. You should pair and disable so you are not prompted in the future to make the connection.
